The southern part of Lesvos, where Plomari is located, features plenty of long or smaller beaches with transparent waters through all of its coastline. Plomari beaches are some of the most popular beaches in Lesvos, attracting people from all over the island. Sandy or pebble beaches with seaside tavernas and bars as well as isolated bays in the outskirts of the town.

The most famous beach in Plomari is Ayios Isidoros, in the homonymous settlement, two kilometers west of Plomari. Undoubtedly, one of the best beaches in Lesvos, featuring both sand and pebbles, Ayios Isidoros is a blue-flag awarded beach for the quality of its water and the facilities offered. Having several beach bars, restaurants and clubs, Ayios Isiodors is one of the most popular choices for swimming in Plomari.

Ammoudeli, located in the west of Plomari, just a few minutes from the center of the village, is the classic choice among Plomari beaches for the locals. Ammoudeli is a pebble beach, with crystal-clear waters in a picturesque neighbourhood with two taverns and good accommodation choices.

Other choices for swimming in Plomari are Tarsanas (or Eso Papas) which is also awarded with a blue flag, and Plakakia on the road to Ayios Isidoros. About 20 minutes from Plomari, following a narrow road to the east, one may reach the small beach of Ayia Varvara with a few tavernas and a lot of accommodation properties. There is also a small beach next to the port of Plomari, on its west.

In the west, about 6 kilometers from Plomari, Melinda is a beautiful pebble beach with a massive rock. Melinda features three tavernas and a few rooms to let, for a stay by the beach.
