Close to town

Ammoudeli, Tarsanas and Plakakia are the easiest choices when you want to swim without giving up the town. Their character and seasonal services differ, so check the beach itself before settling in.

Agios Isidoros for a longer beach day

The long pebble shore, clear water and broader choice of seasonal places to eat make Agios Isidoros the natural option for several hours by the sea. Tarsanas and Agios Isidoros appear on the 2026 Blue Flag list; awards should be checked again for later travel years.

Melinda for the journey as well as the swim

Travel west for a more scenic outing and combine the coast with a walk through Palaiochori. Melinda’s broad shore and distinctive rock make it feel separate from the beaches around town.

Choose the right beach for the day

  • Check wind, waves and swimming depth on arrival.
  • Do not assume umbrellas, food or lifeguards operate outside the main season.
  • Use water shoes if you prefer them on pebbles.
