Akrasi: A Walk on the Cobbled Lanes

Akrasi is built on a hill above the Plomari coast. Houses rise from the lower village towards the church and square, while the former olive press and school recall production and community life.

Walk from the foot of the village to the top

Park without blocking local access and continue on foot. Cobbled lanes, changes in level and the different house fronts make the short climb far more rewarding than a drive through.

From the church and large square, pause for the view across the surrounding hills. Some older houses also preserve roofing details that differ from the more familiar tiled roof.

Churches and chapels

Agia Paraskevi is associated with the village’s older religious history. Other local churches and chapels include Agioi Anargyroi, Agios Nektarios, Agios Nikolaos and Agioi Apostoloi. Enter only when open and remember that they remain places of worship.

The old olive press and school

Buildings in the south-western part of the village connect Akrasi with olive production and education. The former press is central to that story, while the school has supported cultural and museum uses.

Combine Akrasi well

Keep Akrasi in the inland circuit with Neochori and Ambeliko. Do not add the separate Melinda coast route to the same short outing.
