Plagia is close enough to Plomari for a short inland outing, but different enough to change the pace of the day. Its value lies in the village itself, its cultivation and its churches rather than a long checklist of attractions.

Walk through the village

Explore the centre on foot, notice the houses and gardens and pause in the square for a drink or meal when a local business is open.

The village churches

Agia Triada is remembered locally for surviving a major village fire. At Ypapanti, higher in the village, marble architectural pieces from the Roman period are built into the narthex. Visit respectfully and only when access is permitted.

Fit it into your day

Pair Plagia with neighbouring Trygonas for a compact morning or afternoon route. It can also work with a pre-arranged ouzo museum visit before returning to Plomari.
